I began writing My Invisible Man in 2005, after about two years of having strange, yet comforting experiences with a spirit person claiming to be Freddie Mercury. My experiences lasted until about June 2007 and stopped because of my involvement with a certain individual, whose name I shall not mention. Needless to say, that certain individual is still a very big part of my life, and for that reason, I must assume, I no longer have any of the experiences with the spirit who called himself, "Freddie".
It's just one of those eras of your life where, in retrospect, you can't believe you were so involved in it all - and wonder why it all happened in the first place. The imagination can be a very powerful thing indeed - able to manifest real illnesses and diseases in the body among other things - and I sometimes wonder if my Freddie experiences were only a product of my imagination and wishful thinking; something that happened for the benefit of getting me through the very troubling few years after the death of my mother and eldest son.
Whether the experiences were real or imagined, the book was written during the time of my life where Freddie Mercury was very real to me.
